2. Please provide evidence that you are actively living your faith within the school, the parish and the community.
It is my sincere belief that we are meant to be kind and caring. We are meant to put the needs of others before our own needs. In this respect I try to take part in my school and community, providing support where needed. I also strive to be a positive role model for the youth I work with and my own colleagues. I do my best to let my actions be guided by love, caring and faith.
I make an effort to speak to my student on a regular basis about making good choices, and treating those people around them with dignity. I share stories about when I was confronted with choices myself along with times when I've made either the right or wrong choice.
I have organized an outing, which includes all of the high school students, visiting the senior citizens' home in Sexsmith. In cooking class the students will bake treats while in English class they will write poetry which they will be willing to share with the seniors. While at the home our students will spend about 30 minutes reading their poetry to the folks, and then about 30 minutes just having sweets, tea and conversation.
