1. Please provide your current philosophy of Catholic Education.
My philosophy of Catholic education is that it serves to preserve culture, develops faith, reduces feelings of judgement and provides a sense of community. Furthermore, it is a central focus on which to base moral and ethical decisions.
In a large multicultural society where the majority of our public institutions are secular by design, it is easy for young people to lose their cultural identity to the milieu of other cultures in which they are submerged daily. American media is constantly bombarding our young people as well. Many in our society find it difficult to find the time to attend mass or study the gospels with their children. Attending a Catholic school provides an opportunity for these children to learn about their heritage in a busy world.
Faith can also develop easier in an environment where students do not have to worry about being judged or showing who they are.
